Creative Project Manager

I have a reputation for getting sh*t done.

Ever dream of a more productive, impactful innovation engine for your team?

I’m an experienced project manager with a particular fluency in creative projects.
Healthcare service design is my professional specialty.

Below, you'll find examples from my many years of transforming ideas into reality.

Three Pillars

Here are three pillars of my project management career, with highlights from my resumé.

  1. COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP Facilitating high-performing teams is my strength.

    • In 2018, I co-founded The Good Listening Project, a nonprofit that supports psychological safety in healthcare. I served as executive director for five years, championing a collaborative operating model. We doubled revenues every year.

    • I'm currently completing my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, expected December 2024.

    • I helped found a mastermind group for nonprofit leaders, Thrive Impact's Thrivers community, that included executive directors from the fields of cancer, housing instability, youth policy, prison reform, and the arts.

  2. EXPERIENCE DESIGN Intentional experiences are my bread and butter.

    • Every detail of operations for The Good Listening Project was an opportunity to build our culture and community. Onboarding has always been a special passion of mine, so our Listener Poet's Handbook for Working was the first thing our new hires ever received in the mail from us (along with their official "We Are the Listener Poets" stickers and other congratulatory swag).

    • I've got a deep, longstanding passion for user research that drives change. Here's a video training on discovery interview skills that I created for hospital staff.

    • In my course on Innovative Thinking for grad students at the University of Maryland, I share many world-building examples from my career as an experience designer. I created the design internship program at Johns Hopkins Sibley Memorial Hospital, too. You'll find many of my students' testimonials on my LinkedIn.

  3. SERVICE DELIVERY I know how to make things happen.

    • I coached dozens of healthcare workers to use a design thinking approach to innovate at work. These 68 postcards from the field tell the stories.

    • Together with my co-founder, a former executive coach, I built a nonprofit based on a design project that I piloted with a nurse practitioner.

    • Meetups I've led and/ or co-founded include Design Thinking: DC; Healthcare Experience Design | DC; and DC Graphic Facilitators.

I'm also proud to say I've learned from getting it wrong, too. Here is my failure resumé.

Testimonials

I asked some some current and former colleagues to help me tell the story

of how I show up as a team member.
